The Oscar's Best Picture award is always the biggest moment of the night. So...you should try not to eff it up. Unfortunately, that did not happen this year.
When Bonnie & Clyde actor Warren Beatty announced the Best Picture winner, he stared at the card and hesitated a bit. A few painful seconds later, he pulled a Steve Harvey and announced that La La Land won.
As the crew of La La Land was in the middle of making their heartfelt, emotional speeches, they were interrupted by two men running on stage to let them know that uh...Moonlight actually won. It's cringeworthy AF. See for yourself
As both the La La Land and Moonlight cast and crew awkwardly switched positions, Beatty described what actually went down.
"I wasn't trying to be funny," Beatty assured the crowd. He explained to the audience that he received the wrong envelope, and saw that it said Emma Stone won for La La Land, so he just went with it.
Now we're left asking one question: can we rewind to November 8th and have Warren Beatty announce the election results?
